Meet Lorinda Van Newkirk | Founder/CEO

We had the good fortune of connecting with Lorinda Van Newkirk and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Lorinda, we’d love to hear about how you approach risk and risk-taking
owning your own brand is a risk everyday, your idea will it work

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
I’m Lorinda Van Newkirk and I’m a mother, a wife, a friend and a businesswoman.

Business is in my blood; I started my first business at the age of eight.

I have a lot to be proud of. In my career, I have developed, grown and sold three seven and six-figure companies and brands.

As a mother and wife, I am well-versed in the struggles of executing a career—building something for yourself—without pushing your family aside

Business is my business.

My resume doesn’t include jobs, it includes businesses — Business I’ve started; Businesses I’ve run; Businesses I’ve helped begin; Businesses I’ve helped get back on track. I’ve become an expert at business by doing the work. From launching a business to seeing it through to the point of sale, I’ve been through every step and know the best ways through any roadblocks or confusing routes.

I’ve learned to be flexible and dynamic in my business practices, I’m always changing in order to improve. I strive to be a living example of how God has a plan for each of us, and that we should follow that plan, persevere and not give up. I have a roll-n-roll sense of style and attitude; that mentality guides me and helps me feel empowered to empower others.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
Your environment and the people you surround yourself with can either propel you towards success or hold you back. Cultivating a strong support system of individuals who encourage and motivate you can unleash your full potential and help you overcome obstacles with confidence. Explore how surrounding yourself with positive influences can transform your mindset and empower you to achieve greatness. I have worked very hard in all seasons of my life to have the right kind of people in my corner. But, I would have to say my parents have been the #1 staple in helping me be who I am today

LOS ANGELES, Oct 12, 2011/ —- Gypsy Soule’s flashy, rock-n-roll style accessories have become the must-have accoutrements on CMT’s show Texas Women.

Thanks to Anna Hunt and the girls’ sporting of Gypsy Soule bling, their accessories, shoes, and clothing have been selling out–making plenty of room for their new product lines.

Spring 2012 will bring fresh footwear to the forefront thanks to a new collaboration between Gypsy Soule and Ariat International. Fashion meets function in four new styles of boots and two flashy boat shoe designs. They’ll be boasting Gypsy Soule’s vibrant dyed leathers and hides, luminous crystals, and edgy metal studs, while taking advantage of Ariat’s patented technology that creates durable, stable, and comfortable shoes.

These aren’t your grandma’s boots, that’s for sure. While keeping in true western style, the boots will feature a snip-toe, leather-soled design but will be stitched and bejeweled for a rock star look. The Boat Shoes will also feature supple leather, dyed animal-printed hides, and will be encrusted with Swarovski crystal cross motifs.

For those who can’t hold out till Spring to get their cowgirl on, Gypsy Soule has a number of style-studded options to curb that craving. Take back the trucker hat with their gray and red mesh cap with brightly colored Dia de los Muertos embroidery, or red and light blue mesh cap featuring an embroidered cross and vines. They’ll keep the sun off while flaunting that beautifully bold spirit that influences all of Gypsy Soule’s offerings.

Lorinda Graham-Van Newkirk and Amy Moorhouse are the team behind Gypsy Soule and the brain behind their eye-catching, fashion-forward designs. They’ve single-handedly created an all new genre in the western retail market with their jeweled, cowhide flip flops and accessories.
